There’s something I haven’t shared here yet. This month, I did something that, on paper, really wasn't that significant.
I signed myself up for a 28-day Pilates challenge.
For some people, that probably doesn't sound like much. For me, it was.
For years, my priorities have been my children, family, clients, business, the house… making sure everything gets done and everyone has what they need.
My own health and strength? That kept getting pushed to: “When I have more time.”
Except I've spent the better part of seven years waiting for that mythical pocket of spare time.
It hasn't arrived. So this month, I stopped waiting.
I booked the classes. Put them in the calendar. Made the investment.
And if I’m being completely truthful, I was nervous. What if this became just another commitment I couldn’t keep? I’d joined gyms before with the best intentions, only for life to get busy and my membership to become another monthly payment for something I wasn’t actually using. Part of me wondered whether this would be the same. Whether I’d show up for the first few classes, life would inevitably get busy again, and I’d quietly fall back into my old routine.
Two weeks later, I’m still showing up.
And perhaps more importantly… I’m actually looking forward to showing up.
And I have more energy than I've had in years.
I feel stronger. Happier.
And there is something incredibly satisfying about knowing that amongst everything else I'm showing up for…I'm showing up for myself too.
And then I realised I hear the same sentence in business all the time.
“I'll sort the systems when things calm down.”
“We'll set up the CRM properly when we're less busy.”
“I'll document everything once I have more time.”
“I know our follow-up needs fixing. I just haven't had a chance.”
“Once we get through this busy period…”
Sound familiar?
The problem is that when your business is growing, things don't magically calm down.
More clients create more delivery.
More leads create more follow-up.
More team members create more communication.
More opportunities create more decisions.
Growth doesn't usually hand you the spare capacity you need to fix your operations.
The operational work is what creates that capacity.
I'm seeing this play out behind the scenes right now. September has been incredibly busy at Winowin. I've had several women say yes to finally sorting their systems, and my days have been filled with journey mapping, brainstorming, CRM builds, workflows, automations, client check-ins, testing, feedback, refining and sometimes rebuilding.
And what I'm seeing again and again isn't a lack of ambition. These are established businesses. They're growing. They have clients. They have opportunities. The problem is that the infrastructure underneath the growth hasn't always grown with them.
So, the founder compensates.
She remembers.
She follows up.
She checks.
She moves information between systems.
She answers the team's questions.
She holds the process together.
And tells herself:
“I'll fix it when I have more time.”
But just like I discovered with my own health this month…sometimes you don't find the time first.
You make the decision first and the capacity comes afterwards.
So, here's my question for you this week:
What are you waiting for things to “calm down” before you fix?
Is it:
→ leads sitting across inboxes and DMs?
→ follow-ups relying on your memory?
→ a CRM you've bought but never properly implemented?
→ client onboarding that still requires too many manual steps?
→ processes that live mostly inside your head?
→ a team that still needs you to tell them what happens next?
→ systems that no longer suit the size of business you're running?
Pick one.
Because that thing you're waiting to have time to fix might actually be the thing consuming the time you're waiting for.
Don't wait for a quieter business.
Build one with more capacity.
If you're reading this thinking, “I know things need fixing behind the scenes, but I genuinely don't know where to start,” that's exactly why I created my Operational Infrastructure Audit & Blueprint.
I step into your business with fresh eyes and look at what's actually happening across your systems, processes, workflows, client journey, lead management, team operations and technology.
We identify what's creating unnecessary work, where opportunities are slipping through the cracks, what you've outgrown and importantly - what needs fixing first.
You walk away with clarity and a prioritised roadmap for building the operational infrastructure your next stage of growth actually needs.
Because you don't need to wait until you have more time to fix your business. You need to fix what's taking your time.

As for me? I've got another Pilates class booked this week.
The calendar is still full.
The kids still need me.
My clients still need me.
The washing certainly hasn't disappeared.Life hasn't calmed down.
I've just stopped waiting for it to.
Here's to making space for the things that matter.
